Try Something Different! Come to Berkeley’s Second Annual Pride this August!
Berkeley is like San Francisco’s unconditional love condensed into a smaller package, but without all the big-city chaos. And now is the perfect time to visit this charismatic town along the San Francisco Bay as it celebrates its second annual Pride event on August 30, 2026. This year’s Pride celebration, themed “From Joy to Justice,” brings together LGBTQIA+ and QTBIMPOC resilience, culture, advocacy, and queer joy at Martin Luther King Jr. Civic Park. It’s community-rooted, welcoming, and full of the kind of Pride energy that feels both meaningful and fun, well-worth making a whole weekend out of.
Beyond Pride, Berkeley is made for wandering. Explore Telegraph Avenue, browse indie bookstores, visit UC Berkeley, catch a show downtown, hike into the hills for Bay views, or eat your way through one of California’s most highly-rated food scenes. Berkeley is not trying to outshine San Francisco. It’s a complement to it, not a competitor, serving Bay Area magic beautifully. Come for Pride, stay for the food, views, cafés, culture, and queer energy. Go on, try something different! Try Berkeley.

We’re Bringing the Heat to Maspalomas for Our November Group Trip
Winter might be coming, but we’re giving it the two fingers this year by heading to Maspalomas for a gay group trip from November 26–December 2, 2026. The steamy resort town on Gran Canaria enjoys great weather all year round and is one of Europe’s best-known gay meccas, where there are plenty of (mis)adventures to be had, and we want you to join us in finding them!
Those adventures will include sailing the coast on a private catamaran, exploring Puerto de Mogán, a seaside village of colorful buildings and flower-filled canals, and venturing to one of the world’s meatiest gay beaches and the even meatier Maspalomas sand dunes, a world-famous cruising area.
They’ll also be a guided tour of the mountain villages of Tejeda and Roque Nublo, a visit to a coffee plantation, trips to Las Palmas and the caves of Guayadeque, and plenty of time for pool days and balls-to-the-wall nights out at the Yumbo Center, an open-air gay commercial center! What’s more our base of operation will be none other than the iconic gay hotel AxelBeach Maspalomas. If you’re traveling from the US, we’ve timed this trip to coincide with Thanksgiving so you can take advantage of the extra holiday time off.
We don’t intend to spend November chilling and neither should you. Join us and feel the heat in Maspalomas!

Those Gays are Going Places - How to Find LGBTQ+ Friendly Hotels, Hostels & Homestays
Swanky gay city hotel, raunchy clothing-optional resort, queer-friendly social hub hostel, or romantic rental for two… wherever you go on your gaycations, your accommodations are fundamental to the experience you have.
When you look back on any trip, you’ll always remember where you went, what you did, who you did it with, and—without a doubt—where you stayed. Making sure you remember your accommodations for all the right reasons comes down to good planning, and in the modern age, in most parts of the world, that should include the non-negotiable of them being LGBTQ+ friendly. “Tolerant” in locations where gay rights are advanced is no longer good enough. It’s LGBTQ+ love or nothing!
From inclusive booking platforms and gay-specific hotels to what to ask a rental or Airbnb host, consider this your guide to finding the very best LGBTQ+ hotels, gay-friendly hostels, and inclusive accommodations for any trip, from the States to Spain to Thailand.
